You would think with Honda's being such a demand on tuning a company would step up and make something strictly for each model honda that would be the dream engine management system

You would think. I guess the rave of newer si's just never hit them. I mean I understand the ep3's sucked complete balls but I think they did the Si good with the new ones. Now why don't they just freaking back it up with tuning!?

Why doesn't anyone like the Hondata stuff? It seems to be working just fine for my set-up. Although I will need another tune before the trip because of the altitude there. As Al said before, I'll be running pig-rich" I'll be going through gas like water

I don't know about the other guys not liking TARData but I don't like them for the stupid lawsuit they had against PGMFI. PGMFI is where all the free tuning programs come from, where just a bunch of talented guys would go and collaberate and make tuning software for people to use for free. Someone posted something of TOOLdata's on the site and the owner of Hondata asked for it to be removed and when it took a couple days for the owner of PGMFI to take it down I guess he didn't feel it was fast enough and brought a lawsuit against the owner of PGMFI.

How did he even know this program was posted there if he wasn't there trolling around in the first place? Good place to get ideas and feedback from what people are looking for and incorporating it into their software huh? Fuckin' homo's, probably made tons of money off of ideas that were floating around on there and then they go ahead and make some gay lawsuit against them...whatever...I would run an FMU before I run that crap.

Of course these are my thoughts do not reflect the feelings from anyone on or the owners of this site (a little protection before they try and sue someone else the fairies )

Oh and Eric do you have that software running on a laptop that you can bring with you? If you do then you don't really need a retune, when we get down there we can just pull out some fuel and before we head back we can load the program that's on the car now, back on.

Re: Offical, April 2009, Deals Gap Meet Thread

I don't mind Hondata, I don't hate on them like Al does hondata's less expensive setups make sense but once they get more expensive it doesn't make sense to get hondata over the AEM EMS.

having the AEM with the built in O2 is just the perfect way to go. the first trip to the dragon the car ran great until it got up in the altitude and then my tune wasn't good anymore. last time with the AEM with the built in wideband the motor was tuned better to begin with and I had the O2 feedback running all the time. the motor ran perfect from sea level all the way up to the top of the blue ridge at 6,000 feet. made the trip a whole lot more fun

I have the MacBook Pro, however I have Parallels which allows me to run Windows XP OS and it is there I have the Hondata program. The only thing is I don't have any saved data from my past tunes, my tuner did everything on his laptop but told me I could make changes such as boost cut-off and other things that I forgot. Would it be a good idea to get a copy of the tune info from my tuner or could we just make adjustments with the program its self once plugged in.

Re: Offical, April 2009, Deals Gap Meet Thread

You probably don't even have to call him. You should be able to download the ROM right from the ecu and save it on your laptop.

You also don't need parallels to run windows on your laptop. There should be something on there called bootcamp. It partions the hard drive and you can install windows there. Then at start up you can choose which disk you want to boot from.

Re: Offical, April 2009, Deals Gap Meet Thread

I know about the Bootcamp, but on my other Macbook I don't remember the problem I had but I did have some sort of situation, so I just purchased the Parallels. I'v had it for over a year now and no problems what so ever.
As for the download that sounds good to me.

Re: Offical, April 2009, Deals Gap Meet Thread

p.s. My uncle is up here visiting. He says s2ki pretty much has fontana village completely booked for the weekend. So with that said we probably should reserve our rooms at microtel soon. There aren't too many places to stay around the area and with the general weekend warriors who go to the dragon it will be a matter of time before everything is booked.
In talking to them being that they are from Miami, they are a little weary of older civics and when they come around. Since the majority of them again being from miami have had there seats stolen at least twice. ha

Re: Offical, April 2009, Deals Gap Meet Thread

S2KI is being homosexual, they annouced the date then after that said they might be moving it back a week. that was 3-4 weeks ago and they haven't committed to either date yet so who knows if we'll be there the same weekend as them or not, friggin homos.

personally I'm at the point where I don't care about them anymore and just say we do our own thing. on the one hand it'll be cool to be there at the same time as a ton of other hondas but it just might be too crowded to have fun on the dragon like the last two trips with 200 more cars.

I aggree with you we should look into getting the hotel covered ASAP, but which weekend? what date was your uncle saying he was gonna go?

He didn't know an exact date. All he knew was that it was in April. What thread are you looking at? I looked at one in the south florida thread but it didn't talk about dates.

I'm with you though, the extra cars would be sweet especially being hondas. However the added chaos may be a little much. Because there will be a shiatload. So let's just to stick to our dates and if they come they come.

So far the weekend has a busa meet/bmw met/ and small bike club scheduled.
